Getting to Know Horse Coat Colors
Grooming is one of the most important ways we care for horses—and one of the best ways to build trust. In this beginner course, kids will learn why horses are groomed, what tools are used, and how to groom safely and kindly. Using illustrated tools, matching games, and creative activities, students will gain confidence and understanding before grooming a real horse.
Learning Goals
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Explain why grooming is important for horses
- Identify common grooming tools and what they are used for
- Understand the basic grooming order
- Practice safe, gentle grooming habits
- Recognize grooming as part of horse care and horse communication
