Introduction to Horse Communication

  • What Is Horse Communication?
  • Why It’s Important to Understand Horses

Horse Body Language

Horse Sounds
Horses don’t just use body language—they also make sounds to communicate with each other and with us! Each sound has a meaning, and learning to recognize them helps us understand what a horse is feeling.

Horses in the Herd
Horses are herd animals, which means they live in groups and rely on each other for safety and communication. By watching how horses act in a herd, we can learn even more about how they “talk.”

Communicating with Your Horse
Horse communication is a two-way street! Now that you’ve learned how horses talk, it’s time to explore how you can “talk back” using your own body language and actions.

This course is fantastic. Simple enough for any beginner horse person to understand, but completely chock-full of useful information. I'll be asking all of my students to take this!
