Meet the Team
Meet the Barn Team
You may encounter many different people doing different jobs:

Barn Manager
Keeps the entire barn running smoothly

Instructors/Trainers
Teach riders and train horses

Grooms or Barn Workers
Feed, clean stalls, handle horses

Boarders
People who keep their own horses at the barn

Veterinarian
A horse doctor who visits to check health, give vaccines, treat injuries, and make sure horses feel their best

Farrier
A hoof care expert who trims and balances hooves and fits horseshoes when needed
Smart Barn Communication
Listening carefully and asking questions respectfully helps horses and people feel safe.
Listening the First Time
Barn staff often need to work quickly and safely.
When an adult in charge gives a direction, the safest thing you can do is:
• Stop
• Look
• Listen
• Do what’s asked right away
Good listeners make the barn safer for everyone.
Asking Questions the Right Way
Curiosity is welcome (interrupting is not)
Ask questions when:
• An adult isn’t busy with a horse
• A lesson or task has paused
• Someone invites you to ask
Try using:
• “Is this a good time to ask a question?”
• “Can someone show me the right way to do this?”
