Letters Through History (and Horse History!)
Long ago, before cars or computers, people used horses to carry mail across great distances. One famous example was the Pony Express — a relay of brave riders who galloped across the American West in the 1860s, carrying letters from one station to another. Each rider would hand off a leather mailbag to the next, racing through deserts, rivers, and mountains to deliver important messages quickly.
The Pony Express didn’t last long, but it became a legend because of the courage and teamwork between riders and their horses. It reminds us that horses have always helped people stay connected — from old-fashioned mail routes to the make-believe Pony Island Post Office today!
